Welcome to Stress-less, a free meditation course brought to you by Birdland Media Works and Skinny Leopard Media. In this course, we will explore four techniques for reducing stress and bringing more joy into our lives. As a bonus, we've included an extra grounding meditation. We've all experienced stress - sometimes at extreme levels. We wanted to provide tools for managing that stress based on best practices we've learned, researched and developed over our many years of teaching. We've benefited from these practices, and are offering this course for free to help as many people as possible live more peaceful and happy lives.
We outline what we will be doing for the next 30 plus minutes.
It's important to differentiate between the causes and the symptoms to understand what needs to be changed in your life, and what can be managed.
In this meditation, students will explore breathing techniques such as Ujjayi and three-part breathing techniques to develop focus, relax and breathe more fully.
In this brief meditation, we focus on finding out where we hold stress in our body and work to reduce tension in those areas. We also explore how to draw positive energy in for greater wellbeing.
Learn simple but powerful tools for stopping a panic attack before it starts through a mindful focus on the senses and breathwork.
This meditation helps us focus our attention on joy, happiness, gratitude, laughter, and love, and teaches us how to develop a habit of positive thinking.
This special Grounding Meditation is taken from our "Mindfulness in Work and Business" course. In this meditation, we will go through a short visualization exercise that will help us remain calm and centered throughout challenges. This exercise is a great one to do to center after a stressful experience and to prepare ourselves for an upcoming challenge. It is also a helpful foundation exercise to practice prior to other meditations.

Meditation teaches us to identify how and where stress affects our body and how to relax these areas for greater wellbeing. As an intermediary step between the meditation series, we will find immediate tools for bypassing panic attacks (or how to recover more quickly if we do become significantly stressed). Last, we will wrap up with a meditation designed to help us focus on the positive. Research tells us that positive thinking leads to greater physical health and wellness. It is believed that positive people live 7 and 1/2 years longer!

As a bonus, the course also includes a free grounding meditation.

The meditations in this course are meant to build upon one another, and should first be practiced in order. Participants will leave with actionable meditations and exercises that they can return to at any time when they feel the need to re-center and manage their stress levels.

What you’ll learn
  • By the end of this brief course, students will have a minimum of four take-away tools for relaxation. Students can repeat these meditations at any time when they need to de-stress. With continued practice, students are likely to find that they are less stressed and - if they do become stressed - they recover more quickly.

Beginners will learn key tools for successful meditation practice. Advanced students will develop new skills for enhancing their existing personal practice.

This course is appropriate for everyone. All that is needed is a computer, an internet connection, and an open mind.
